BLUES

Have you noticed how blue flowers remain visible for longer at dusk?

This is because the eye is more sensitive to blue than other colours in dim conditions, and also because the light after sunset has a blue cast and so it is reflected back by blue objects - Andrew Lawson (The Gardeners Book of Colour).

Geranium, Centaurea, and Campanula.

I love blue flowers and that blue Geranium is one of my favourites.
My clump has a few self-sown (orange) Fox and Cubs growing close by and it's the perfect combination.

That's an interesting snippet of information. Thank you!

I wouldn't know as I rarely ever go to the plot at that time of day! Flighty xx

I'm not sure that I've noticed, but dusk is often when I'm in my garden -- a little stroll when I get home from work. These are lovely blues, Louise.

Hello Louise,
You learn something every day! I know that blue can be funny to photograph, bluebells never seem to come out the right colour but yours have, the photos are lovely. Not sure how you feel about awards but I gave you one over at my blog but only you want it!
Have nice weekend.x

BEAUTIFUL, I love the Blues. I've just planted some new Perennials into my garden and now they are forecasting giant hail ball storms tomorrow! Oh gosh I do hope they do not come here! Catherine x

Hiya, you asked about the Plant in my photos. It is a Salvia, I too had never seen one like this - I found this link that is the same - http://gstuff.co.nz/shop/garden/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=545&zenid=f49ed03403500689d092b31423416448
