HAPPY EASTER

Have the happiest of Easters
And the springiest of Springs!

Violet is for faithfulness
Which in me shall abide
Hoping likewise that from your heart
You will not let it hide

The sweet scented and the dog violet are both classed as herbs, so can be used in a salad. Another use is in cordials, preserves and tea, and don't forget crystallised on the top of cakes and chocolates.

Violets can also used for medicinal purposes in the form of poultices to relieve ulcers, a tincture for sore throats, to ease the symptoms of catarrh and to lessen rheumatic pain.

The violet, such a tiny delicate flower with so many uses.

Watchfulness, faithfulness, I'll always be true

Well who would have thought that the innocent shrinking violet had so much acclaim...
Personally .. I love them and they always remind me of my grandmother.

Happiest bounciest of Easter wishes to you to Louise!

Hello Louise
I love violets, something very old fashioned about them, they always remind me of parma violets which my mum and grandma carried with them. I love little cupcakes decorated with crystallised violets although have never made them before. Happy Easter

Happy Easter!
Violets are so shrinking and easily overlooked.
I had an Aunty Vi who wasn't a bit like her name. Very loud and jolly.
I love the celendine flower fairy.

I love the flower fairies too, who can resist an extra bit of magic in the garden?

Happy (if not a little late) Easter. The violet is similar to your plumanaria isn't it? (Is it supposed to be... have I mis-read somewhere?) I voted yes in your poll... well my hubby does, that must still count! xx
